A direct payment support service in Cardigan seeks a Personal Assistant to assist with daily routines and community activities. The role involves helping with correspondence, managing appointments, and providing support during local engagements. Essential skills include calmness and good communication. A Personal Assistant is required to assist me with daily routines and social activities. I am a gentleman in my thirties who would like a PA to assist me to develop good routines and practices which will support me to maintain structure to complete my day-to-day activities. With this support it will enable me to manage my days independently and to accomplish tasks efficiently.
As my PA, you will also support me with my correspondence, enabling me to keep track of and to book appointments and commitments. I would also like my PA to assist me to explore voluntary opportunities, supporting me to partake in these activities should I choose to undertake those which interest me. My PA will also accompany me when I access my local community and amenities, to provide support and assurance whilst I engage in my chosen activity. On occasions my PA may have to transport me in their own vehicle, therefore access to a vehicle with the relevant insurance cover is essential.
Essential that applicants for this role have a calm nature with good listening and communication skills. Must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid National Insurance number.
This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant. If you have an online update DBS you have a great chance of becoming shortlisted for this position as this can help the employer to recruit much quicker. If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance number has been provided. You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
Note: This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of an individual employer. You will be employed by that individual and not Ceredigion County Council. The employee will be an employee of the Direct Payment Recipient and not of Ceredigion County Council.
