About Us

Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not‑for‑profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel. We have been supporting older people for over 120 years, offering care home and day care services, and providing grants to older people in financial difficulty.

New Copford Place is a residential care home in Copford on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex, one of nine homes run by FotE. Our focus is to give older people in our care the chance to live fulfilled lives, whether they stay with us for a longer residential stay or a short‑term respite break.

Role Overview

As a Domestic Assistant, you will keep our care home clean and ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Responsibilities include vacuuming, polishing tables and office surfaces, wiping armchairs and dining chairs, emptying bins, ensuring the laundry service runs smoothly, and assisting with serving meals and refreshments.

Qualifications

• Good standard of English and number skills.
• Comfortable using digital technology for online training.
• Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety beneficial but not required.
• No prior experience needed; training will be provided.
