Overview

Distribution Manager – Fresh Direct, part of the Sysco Group

Salary up to £62,000 plus great benefits. 40 hours per week. Day shift: Monday – Friday typically, working 9:00 – 17:00 or 8:00 – 16:00 with flexibility to work other shift patterns when required. Based in Bicester, Oxfordshire (with occasional travel to other business sites).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership of the distribution function, managing a large fleet and a team of drivers to ensure efficiency and reliability of operations.
• Report to the General Manager and manage the overall performance of the department, delivering key performance indicators and acting as budget owner for the function.
• Utilise data and management information to meet and exceed performance expectations; ensure adherence to legislation, company policy, and ongoing fleet compliance and team safety.
• Lead by example to foster a positive, engaging, and high-performance culture within the Transport team; develop direct reports and set clear direction for all Transport colleagues.
• Drive continual improvement; identify and implement solutions that enable service and cost benefits in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
• Act as principal O Licence holder for the site and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience in a similar distribution/transport leadership role within a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
• National/International Transport Manager CPC license is desirable.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to use data and management information to influence performance.
