Digby Morris is working on behalf of a significant Government/Municipal client to identify a suitably qualified individual for the role of Director of Multi-Modal Transport Operations
Overview
The Director of Multi-Modal Transport is responsible for the operation of a brand-new large-scale Mobility Operation ensuring the smooth running, continuous improvement and profitability of operations of a significant multi-modal fleet.
Future planning and identifying new opportunities will become part of the role. Regular expense control, staff management, supplier management, budget & forecasting, guest interaction and department supervision will form day-to-day responsibilities. This position requires the individual to be extremely organized, have a keen eye for attention to detail and the flexibility to work with different aspects of a business. The role fully focuses on being strategic and adaptable to meet business requirements
Duties
- Operational Performance & Enhancement: Lead the continuous improvement of land mobility operations across all destinations, focusing on service quality, operational efficiency, asset utilisation, and guest satisfaction for all transport modes including cars, buses, buggies, and micro-mobility solutions.
- Service Excellence & Guest Experience: Drive consistent, high-quality service delivery by refining operating models, improving journey flows, reducing wait times, and enhancing end-to-end guest and staff mobility experiences across all touchpoints.
- Commercial & Financial Performance: Own and improve the commercial performance of land mobility operations through cost optimisation, productivity improvements, revenue enhancement initiatives, and disciplined budget and P&L management.
- Product Optimisation & Pricing: Continuously review and optimise mobility products and services, including pricing strategies, capacity models, and service tiers, ensuring strong value-for-money, competitiveness, and profitability post-opening.
- Operational Governance & Standards: Maintain, review, and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and step-by-step processes to ensure operational consistency, scalability, and measurable performance improvement.
- Health, Safety & Compliance Leadership: Ensure ongoing compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all land mobility operations, working closely with HSE teams to embed a strong safety culture and proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Workforce Performance & Capability Development: Partner with HR and operational leaders to optimise organisational structures, staffing models, rostering, and performance management. Oversee ongoing training, capability uplift, and leadership development for managers and frontline teams.
- Operational Readiness Sustainment: Transition from launch readiness into sustained operational excellence by stabilising operations, resolving post-opening challenges, embedding best practices, and driving maturity across systems, processes, and teams.
Qualification and Experience
- Degree qualified in related industry
- 10 years in mobility / transportation
- 5 years in a Management role
- Proven track record in leading an operational strategy and roadmap for execution
- Experience working alongside operating partners to implement and achieve KPIs, SLAs
- Experience in the hospitality, tourism market or related sectors would be advantageous
- Middle East experience would be advantageous
- Any experience in working in / with ultra-luxury environments/ sectors
- Experience working in either the client side or supplier/ operator
- Proven track record in setting up and leading mobility operations managing operators to achieve high quality standards and excellent guest experiences
