About the Role

A new leadership opportunity has opened for a Director to join the Oxford office, working across major projects within sectors such as Science & Research, Healthcare, and Net Zero retrofit of existing buildings.

The Oxford office operates as a vibrant, collaborative team within a larger multidisciplinary consultancy. With a strong pipeline and a people-first ethos, the office balances professional opportunity with a progressive culture - including hybrid working, 9-day fortnights, and flexible hours.

In this role, you will help shape the long-term strategy, influence project direction, and support growth through high-impact leadership, technical expertise, and client engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, encouraging repeat business
  • Support Directors in cultivating new client relationships and market opportunities
  • Contribute to strategic planning and leadership within the regional business unit
  • Lead and coordinate bids, tenders, and appointment processes
  • Manage the delivery of medium to large-scale projects across multiple disciplines
  • Oversee resource planning and project coordination to ensure smooth execution
  • Ensure financial performance on projects, including invoicing and fee management
  • Provide expert technical input, supporting multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Lead recruitment activities and play an active role in selecting high-quality talent
  • Mentor and develop emerging professionals within the business
Qualifications
  • Chartered status and professional recognition within the industry
  • Excellent technical leadership across building services design
  • Strong commercial and project management understanding
  • Experience working in either consultancy or contracting environments
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience coordinating integrated design teams and external collaborators
  • Ability to nurture team development and drive performance
  • Comfortable leading complex, high-risk projects in sectors such as healthcare or research
  • Proficiency with design and coordination software relevant to MEP engineering
  • A values-led leadership approach, with openness, empathy, and integrity
  • Experience in Science & Research or Healthcare projects is advantageous but not essential.
