Job Description

Kanadevia Inova is seeking a HSE Director for the UK, who will partner with the Group HSE Director, Business Units, and Country Operations to provide strategic HSE support, establish integrated management systems, and guide organisational growth.

This following is a list of non-exhaustive duties which may evolve with business needs.

  • Lead and maintain the HSE Management System, ensuring compliance with international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Achilles), legal registers, and best practices across all sites and operations.
  • Oversee HSE performance across projects-conducting audits, leading accident investigations, analysing trends, and implementing initiatives that enhance safety culture and reduce risk.
  • Manage project and country-level HSE resources, ensuring competency, budget control, emergency preparedness, technical supervision, and continuous alignment with company and legal expectations.
  • Provide regular training, prepare HSE documents for bids, deliver performance reports, support senior management requests, and develop strong client relationships to strengthen Kanadevia Inova's market position.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to forecast future HSE resource needs, support mobilisation planning, and ensure operational readiness across all current and upcoming projects.

  • Demonstrated leadership in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), with the ability to set strategic direction and drive cultural transformation across international construction and process-engineering environments.
  • Extensive global construction experience, delivering technical guidance and creative vision across headquarters and large-scale project sites, with a proven record of high HSE performance.
  • Strong people leadership capabilities, including direct line management of teams up to 30 members, resource planning, performance optimisation, and organisational change management.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks in environment and occupational health & safety, with the ability to translate requirements into robust processes, standards, and business improvements.
  • Highly analytical and solutions-driven, with expertise in gap analysis, continuous improvement, client relationship management, and complex problem-solving across construction and plant engineering operations.
Competence in working methods
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and reporting skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Office and evidence-based HSE communication.
  • Strong capability in assessing training needs and implementing relevant, high-quality HSE training solutions available in the global market.
  • Proven leadership in organising and prioritising departmental workloads, managing performance expectations, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Skilled negotiator with established auditing competence and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluent in English, with the professional confidence to engage, challenge, and advise senior leaders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
