Qualifications

The Role

Diagnostic Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Technician to join a professional workshop environment. This role focuses on advanced fault diagnosis across mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems, supporting the workshop in resolving complex technical issues efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer and third-party diagnostic equipment
  • Identify and rectify complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
  • Support and mentor other technicians with diagnostic guidance
  • Complete repairs to manufacturer and company standards
  • Carry out servicing and repair work when required
  • Accurately complete job cards, reports and digital health checks
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and workshop procedures
  • Keep up to date with manufacturer technical bulletins and training
The Ideal Candidate
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Proven experience as a Diagnostic Technician or Senior Technician
  • Strong fault-finding and analytical skills
  • Confident using diagnostic tools and vehicle systems software
  • EV / Hybrid certification (desirable but not essential)
  • MOT Tester licence (advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
