Job description
Overview

We’re seeking an experienced, proactive midwife to join our Specialist Diabetes Midwifery Team on secondment from December 2025 for 13 months. You’ll provide specialist antenatal care for women with diabetes and work across sites, including The Royal Oldham Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver comprehensive care and clinical advice for women with diabetes during pregnancy
  • Collaborate closely with the diabetes team and communicate effectively, including conveying complex information and managing unexpected outcomes
  • Monitor failsafe systems with a focus on patient safety and maintain essential data (e.g., using Microsoft Office tools)
  • Support ongoing training and education of colleagues in the field; share knowledge and present when appropriate
  • Be adaptable to shifting priorities and participate in local changes to meet national program expectations
  • Travel between sites as required
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experienced midwife with a solid knowledge base in diabetes maternity care
  • Confident, forward-thinking, and able to drive local improvements; strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage data and use Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to travel between The Royal Oldham Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary
