Overview

Device Repair Technician at Batteries Plus in Carlisle, PA. Starting at $15 an hour, increasing to $17 an hour when Certifications are completed. Bonus program available. This role focuses on device repair, customer service, and related tasks.

Device Repair Technician Duties
  • Stand ready to engage with customers, logging their device repair needs with a sense of duty.
  • Assess repair potential, estimate costs, and provide customers with repair quotes.
  • Repair cell phones, tablets, light fixtures, and other devices for customers.
  • Handle logistics tasks including receiving, packing, and shipping devices with a sense of urgency.
  • Install batteries, conduct tests, and perform tech work as part of daily duties.
  • Rebuild cordless drill batteries and other power packs as part of technical responsibilities.
  • Maintain inventory to ensure essential components are available for operations.
  • Share knowledge with store teammates by training in device disassembly, image capture, and creating empowering video tutorials.
  • Guide other store associates via live camera-based remote support for in-store device restorations.
Customer Service / Sales
  • Adopt a "Customer First" approach in all interactions with customers.
  • Identify customer needs with warmth and recommend add-on items that complement their interests.
  • Execute transactions with attention to detail.
  • Use the store phone to engage customers, assist callers, and relay messages promptly to the appropriate parties.
  • Stay informed about product and service offerings.
  • Collaborate effectively to ensure tasks are completed.
Merchandising / Inventory
  • Support store operations by completing tasks assigned by the Store Manager to keep operations smooth.
  • Track inventory, rotate, stock, load, unload, and coordinate deliveries.
  • Prepare the store’s visual presentation, including setup and teardown of displays for daily readiness.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma and 3-6+ months of prior customer service and device repair experience are ideal.
  • Associate’s degree in electronics or a similar technical field is acceptable if device repair experience is limited.
  • Technical aptitude for adopting new processes and technologies.
  • Attention to detail to manage multiple commitments and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Collaborative mindset with follow-through to ensure tasks are completed.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for delivering products to commercial customers.
