Packaging Line Leader

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Packaging Line Leader to join our client's Production team. Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, you will take ownership of the performance of packaging lines, ensuring standards are maintained, KPIs are achieved, and continuous improvement initiatives are driven forward. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will guide operators, facilitate problem‑solving, and ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality operations.

  • Team Management: Support and develop packaging operators, providing feedback and input into performance reviews and development discussions.
  • Standards Ownership: Maintain and update documented standards (SWIs, SOPs, training materials) and ensure adherence across the team.
  • Training Support: Identify training needs and work with technical trainers to strengthen operator capability.
  • Performance Management: Monitor line performance against KPIs and lead cross‑functional meetings to drive improvement actions.
  • Problem Solving: Lead proactive and reactive investigations using industry‑standard techniques, documenting findings and driving corrective actions.
  • Operational Leadership: Act as first point of contact for line issues, coordinate responses with support teams, and escape when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion innovation and efficiency initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
  • Deputising: Step in for the Production Shift Manager when required and represent production in project teams or focus groups.
Key Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Clear and confident communication skills across all levels of the organisation.
  • Solid GMP experience.
  • Proactive and accountable with a self‑starter mindset.
  • Professional under pressure, able to manage competing priorities.
