Job Description

Title:

Design Manager

The Design Manager reports to the Programme Engineering Manager, overseeing design development throughout the project lifecycle. The role collaborates closely with the Design Project Manager, who handles project management, and Lead Engineers, who lead specific engineering domains. The candidate must deliver results efficiently, demonstrating sound engineering judgment, management skills, and effective use of tools and techniques.

The primary responsibility is to manage the delivery and coordination of technical engineering work packages, ensuring they meet scope, quality, schedule, and cost requirements. This includes planning and supporting integration with internal and external stakeholder groups.

Requirements:
  • Proven knowledge and skills in the technical management of large-scale, complex design development throughout the lifecycle.
  • Understanding of engineering design and safety practices relevant to the discipline, project, and post requirements.
  • Experience working in BIM environments.
  • Experience in project specification, planning, management, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of company and departmental procedures related to Design, Health & Safety (including Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM), and Quality.
Location:

Hybrid role based in Glasgow City Centre, with 3 days in the office per week.

Security Clearance:

SC Clearance is required. Due to the project's secure nature, restrictions related to the UK will apply.
