Job summary

A leading CAD design company in the United Kingdom is seeking a CAD Designer or CAD Engineer to develop innovative product concepts and support multiple departments including sales and production. Ideal candidates will have experience in 3D & 2D CAD, particularly Solidworks, and possess a keen eye for detail. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 5:15 pm, with Friday off. This position is easily commutable from various nearby towns including Birmingham and Worcester.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D & 2D CAD, Solidworks preferred.
• Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
• Ability to carry out tolerance stacks.
• Understanding of diecast, moulded, pressed and machined parts.

Responsibilities

• To design and create innovative new product concepts and finalised designs.
• Carry out design changes to existing products as directed by the engineering drawings.
• Work closely with customers and suppliers to bring products to life.
• Support the sales department with initial design concepts.
• Support the production department to ensure that parts go together smoothly and efficiently.
• Support the quality department with product improvements.
• Answer all customer enquiries, via email, internet calls, or phone calls in timely manner.
• Assist and drive cost reduction projects to achieve targets set by the engineering manager.

Qualifications

• Must have experience of 3D & 2D CAD, Solidworks would be highly beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of geometric dimensionalsand tolerances.
• Ability to carry out tolerance stacks.
• Ability to work to agreed timescales.
• Have an understanding of diecast, moulded, pressed and machined parts.
• Ability to work in a team.
• A good eye for detail and able to multi task effectively.
• Good time management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Designer or CAD Engineer

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 7am to 5.15pm. Friday off.

The role is based in Redditch so is easily commutable from Birmingham, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Alcester, Dudley, Droitwich, West Bromwich, Kidderminster.
