Design Engineer
Desborough, Kettering
Salary - up to £50k DOE

Our client, a forward‑thinking engineering business, is seeking a proactive Design Engineer to join their team, taking ownership of 2D and 3D drafting projects and supporting the production of high‑quality manufactured products.

What You’ll Do

• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure designs meet business requirements.
• Maintain and update the parts database and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.
• Take a hands‑on approach to design, proactively suggesting improvements and ensuring continuity across projects.
• Support administrative functions, filing documentation, issuing drawings, and adhering to company quality and safety standards.

About You

• Experienced in design engineering or drafting within a similar industry.
• Strong background in steelwork fabrication.
• Qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and general IT systems.
• Creative, organised, and flexible with a collaborative, team‑focused attitude.
