Beacon ward is an 38 bedded acute medical ward
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to join our team on a secondment basis. for 1 year
The band 6 must be able to multi task under pressure and support all other nursing , staff alongside student nurses and junior doctors.
The band 6 will support and coordinate on their shift supporting the ward manager implementing safety huddles, safety standards , audits, appraisals, team learning , incident reporting and answering complaints, educating new and existing staff.

We are seeking dynamic and motivated nurse that is an enthusiastic team player. If you think that you have some experience which you consider could be translated to this ward environment.
As a deputy sister your role is to support the ward sister in her role and lead in her absence. The band 6 will support and coordinate on their shift supporting the ward manager implementing safety huddles, safety standards , audits, appraisals, team learning , incident reporting and answering complaints, educating new and existing staff. Act as a role model to junior members of staff and mentor junior nurses and students. Be able to maintain high standards of nursing care and documentation within your team.
You will need to be a good communicator and able to manage families and other members of the MDT. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists and discharge co ordinators. A good knowledge of discharge planning is vital in this role . You will need to be clinically competent and able to administer IV medications and blood.

To support the ward sister in the effective management of the area. Inaddition the post holder will provide nursing leadership within this area,ensuring an effective quality nursing service, with responsibility forstandards of nursing care and patient safety in conjunction with theward sister. They will be responsible for some audits that are regularly done, expected to maintain high standards within the ward environment , and lead in the absence of the ward sister along with 2 other deputies.
