A leading health service provider in Liverpool is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager for the Major Trauma Ward. The successful candidate will support the ward manager in delivering high-quality, compassionate care and demonstrate leadership in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. The position requires proven experience as a Registered Nurse and a commitment to improving patient experiences. Informal visits are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • 1st Level Registered Nurses with Band 5 experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in a management role.
  • Knowledge of current nursing issues and healthcare governance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ward manager to lead and supervise quality patient care.

Overview

Deputy Ward Manager - Major Trauma role at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister to join the team on Major Trauma Ward. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our multidisciplinary team, providing high quality nursing care within the acute setting on the Major Trauma Ward. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, teamwork and a dedication to improving the patient experience. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others and work closely within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be 1st Level Registered Nurses with evidence of demonstrable experience of working as a Band 5 or previous experience as a Band 6.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to demonstrate significant Band 5 experience. We are looking for individuals with leadership potential and effective communication skills, able to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to the clinical environment and a passion for excellence in patient care.

Job responsibilities

You will support the ward manager to lead, provide and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients. You will support the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management, ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met, whilst improving patient outcomes. You will support the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identify risk and formulate actions to reduce this risk and ensure patient throughput is effective. You will display excellent leadership and effective communication skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to the clinical environment and be passionate about excellence in patient care.
