Job summary

A well-established care company is looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to supervise a team of support workers. You will engage actively with service users, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives while managing day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent and experience in supporting individuals with challenging behaviors. The role offers 37.5 hours a week, 28 days holiday, and opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

Premier Recruitment Group has the privilege to recruit on behalf of our very prestigious client based in Charing, Kent. We are recruiting for an experienced and forward‑thinking Deputy Manager. This is a full‑time, permanent position working for a well‑established care company in the field of mental health, learning disabilities, and autism. It offers a very interesting and varied role with a scope for progression.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can.
  • Act as a role model for staff, so that they are encouraged to understand the people you support.
  • Offer regular supervision to all staff.
  • Be actively engaged with service users and staff, continuously seeking opportunities to improve service user lifestyles and staff skills and commitment to achieve this.
  • Participate in the day‑to‑day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
  • Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others while respecting appropriate confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.
  • Work as part of a team to provide high‑quality care.
Personal Characteristics
  • Diploma in Health and Social Care, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to work towards one.
  • Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, and/or mental health issues.
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The passion to work with vulnerable adults.
  • The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
