Job summary

A leading care provider in Yeovil is seeking a Deputy Head of Care to manage day-to-day services in the absence of Registered Managers. This role promotes professionalism and safeguarding, ensuring students receive high-quality person-centred support. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in complex care, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, and the ability to lead and mentor staff. This position also involves contributing to audits and recruitment while supporting the care team's development.

Qualifications

  • 3 years prior experience working within a learning disability complex care environment.
  • Current car driving licence is desirable.
  • Basic First Aid knowledge is essential.

Job description

The Deputy Head of Care will act as a senior point of contact in the absence of the Registered Managers, ensuring the service continues to be managed effectively on a day-to-day basis in their absence. They will promote a culture of professionalism, safeguarding and continuous improvement. This will include demonstrating flexibility in your working hours to ensure that the service remains safe.

  • Support the Registered Managers in ensuring Cambian Lufton College meets all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure the highest quality of service is provided for our students through their person-centred Support plans and that students are encouraged and supported to achieve and exceed their full potential.
  • Provide strong, positive leadership to the care team, acting as a role model at all times.
  • Lead team meetings and training sessions where required. Offer coaching and mentoring support to staff where required.
  • Support the Registered Manager and Head of Care with the completion of audits, quality assurance processes and service development plans.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and performance management of staff.
    NVQ Level 3 in a Health and Social Care setting - Essential
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and IT Systems
  • Basic First Aid knowledge - Essential
  • 3 years prior experience working within a learning disability complex care environment.
  • Current car driving licence - desirable.
