Role: Deputy Children's Home Manager
Home Type: 6 bedded EBD home (therapeutic PACE approach)
Location: WV5
Salary and benefits are in addition to basic pay, with a comprehensive package reflecting shifts, sleep-ins, and additional perks.
Package & Benefits
- Basic pay: £17-18 per hour, plus £66.55 per sleep-in
- Estimated package: Up to £41,272 per annum, based on 8 sleep-ins per month

What Will The Role Entail?
As a Deputy Children's Home Manager, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will draw on your experience in children's homes to lead a passionate team and ensure smooth operation of the home and delivery of high-quality care for young people.
The Successful Candidate Will Excel At:
- Supporting the Registered Manager to operate the home to an excellent standard, adhering to Ofsted's Children’s Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures
- Managing a staff team, conducting supervisions and appraisals, and ensuring trainings align with Quality Standards
- Developing and reviewing Ofsted-required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, regulated “Reg” reports; attending LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings and reviews
- Communicating effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals
- Carrying out administrative tasks including health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances; participating in recruitment and inductions
- On-call responsibilities; providing expert guidance during out-of-hours crises
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience leading a team specifically within a children's home environment
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to undertake the described shift pattern, including sleep-ins and on-call responsibilities
- A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people and staff
