Job Purpose

The key purpose of the Student Support and Development Coordinator is to work closely with all dental learners and secure the absolute best outcomes for learners whilst meeting all NEBDN mandatory requirements. The core focus of this role is onboarding and progression across all students in the faculty, working with senior management to ensure the highest expectations of performance are matched with optimal learner journey, reducing cancellations, accelerating completion time, and increasing retention.

Job Overview
  • Specify and implement learner segmentation and course progression in NEBDN required timelines.
  • Act as the first contact point for learners, dental practices, dental hospitals, and dental groups.
  • Act as the first contact point for dental nurses post enrolment to reassure NEBDN compliance.
  • Work with the Dental Faculty team to communicate learner progress.
  • Work with current and past students in developing dental nursing skills.
  • Validate documentation according to GDC framework and NEBDN standards (SMA, CQC, GDC).
  • Implement appropriate reporting system.
  • Manage learner eligibility for dental programme including application forms and compliance checks.
  • Manage learning systems, cohorts, and learner tracking.
  • Manage NEBDN hub learner engagement.
  • Maintain employer and patient engagement within NEBDN compliance.
  • Conduct weekly job support sessions and onboard onto 12‑week programme.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Liaise with senior management to map improvement strategy in line with GDC and NEBDN standards and manage delivery of learner progression.
  • Gather, analyse, and present accurate learner information, meeting all data requirements (SMA, CQC, GDC).
  • Create and implement robust quality assurance system analysing learner status and progression.
  • Improve enrolment process and learner onboarding.
  • Monitor learner timelines post 12 weeks or once employed.
  • Implement mandatory communications with employers and patients.
  • Develop and report on learner status.
  • Contribute proactively to the Dental Faculty.
  • Manage Hubspot and respond to learner queries in a timely manner.
  • Communicate Dental Faculty vision and values effectively.
  • Empower staff and students to excel in work, study, and achievement.
  • Adhere to GDC, NEBDN, and GDPR requirements.
  • Ensure all students progress through learning programmes.
  • Build relationships with learners and employers.
  • Help new students with course onboarding to reduce cancellations.
Person Specification – Essential
Knowledge & Experience
  • 5+ years experience in dental field, understanding restrictions, GDC/CQC/NEBDN standards up to date with RQF requirements.
  • Remote working experience.
Qualifications
  • NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current GDC registration.
