Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator to join the Dental Foundation Training Faculty within Yorkshire and the Humber, as a Training Programme Director. The role is 2PA per week.

The post holder will have experience of, and commitment to, postgraduate dental education and the delivery of high quality education and training.

The post holder will work with the Associate Dental Dean, in planning and delivering the Dental Foundation Training within the region. They will be responsible for a scheme of Foundation Dentists and supporting their development throughout Foundation Training.

Qualifications

The post holder must hold current registration with the GDC as a Dentist.

Responsibilities
  • Recruitment to training posts and programmes.
  • Postgraduate programme management, including assessments, progression, support and remediation, career support, less than full‑time training and other related work‑streams.
  • Assist the Associate Dental Dean and Postgraduate Dean in the early identification of trainees requiring additional support through local monitoring, escalation as required and referral to appropriate services.
  • Develop educational programmes where needed to support achievement of curriculum competencies, engaging with commissioning processes as required.
  • Recruitment and quality assurance of training practices.
  • Identify learning needs and support provision of educational appraisal, educator development and resource for faculty, trainees and learners.

The role will require some travel across Yorkshire and the Humber, to attend meetings and educational events.
