Overview

Ready to take charge and steer projects towards success with your proven delivery expertise? Our Major Programme Services (MPS) team is looking for exceptional Delivery Managers. As part of PA's Delivery stream, PA's Centre of Excellence for all project, programme, and portfolio capability, the MPS team works across the defence, major projects & infrastructure, transport, and public sector domains in client-facing roles on long-term assignments. Having experienced repeated successes in delivering value and excellence for our clients, most of whom are within daily commuting range from home, we are in high demand and are now expanding further across the UK. As a Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients to delivering some of the UK's most complex products and services. Your expertise in delivery management will be crucial in supporting the successful achievement of outcomes for our clients. Youll set the team up for success, support them in problem solving and planning and enable them to come up with their own insights within the complex constraints our clients face today. You'll be fully client-facing, harnessing the metrics coming from the team, both to help the team improve its own throughput and to inform clients and others about how the teams are delivering. You'll be an experienced delivery practitioner, getting into the detail to make things happen at pace.

Responsibilities
  • Play a role in the formation and running of high performing cross functional teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking. This means you are not set in one process or way of thinking but willing to learn new skills and blend approaches to solve our client challenges.
  • Deliver products and projects using the appropriate methodology, learning and iterating frequently, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge, and bringing in best practice with a view to continuous performance improvement.
  • Set the bar/example of what great Delivery Management looks like, ensuring quality and attention to detail is embedded throughout our work.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement activities, facilitating collaboration and communication among all participants.
  • Develop your own delivery expertise even further through a range of on-the-job learning, training, and formal qualifications.
Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge of estimating, scoping and delivering products, services, and outcomes using a variety of delivery techniques and methods.
  • Experience of working in technical/ engineering projects using Agile Delivery methods.
  • Experience or certification in project management or project controls methodologies (PMQ, Prince2 etc) is desirable.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems, and to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to clients and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling successful collaboration with stakeholders across all levels.
