Job summary

A recruitment agency specializing in engineering is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer in Buckinghamshire. The role involves ensuring suppliers meet contract requirements and quality standards within the defence sector. Ideal candidates will have quality assurance experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing, familiarity with ISO standards, and must be British nationals due to security clearance requirements. This position offers an opportunity to drive quality improvements and work autonomously with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be British Nationals as full UK Security Clearance (SC) may be required.
  • Good attention to detail, methodical and analytical.
  • Ability to interpret engineering and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate supplier contract requirements and monitor performance.
  • Conduct internal audits, quality investigations, and raise non-conformances.
  • Develop supplier KPIs and metrics to monitor performance.

Skills

Quality assurance experience in a defence, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing
Knowledge of ISO9001 / AS9100 Rev D
Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Familiarity with machining and manufacturing practices
Knowledge of Lean methodologies, 5S, Six Sigma
Excellent communication skills
Good practical skills from low volume electro-mechanical production
Ability to take initiative

Education

Degree or HND in Engineering or Quality Management
