The successful candidate will manage transactions, support clients through acquisitions and disposals, and deliver high-quality financial analysis. Overview

Grant Thornton’s Sale and Purchase Agreement Advisory team is looking for an experienced SPA Manager/Associate Director to join our Deals Advisory and Consulting service line. The role will support clients through acquisitions and disposals, drive value creation, and deliver high‑quality financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage transactions with minimal partner involvement, acting as the primary contact in the absence of senior leadership.
  • Interface with client management and cross‑functional teams, assessing risk and providing commercial solutions.
  • Draft letters of engagement, fee estimates, budgets and monitor assignment costs against budgets.
  • Produce high‑quality financial analysis and review completion accounts, earn‑out accounts, and other completion mechanisms.
  • Present conclusions and recommendations to clients, discussing implications and action points.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the firm's services and actively cross‑sell where appropriate.
  • Support self‑development through performance reviews and Personal Development Plan (PDP) processes.
Qualifications
  • ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA qualification, with post‑qualification experience.
  • Experience with mergers & acquisitions, EV to equity value bridges, and financial aspects of SPAs.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review completion accounts and earn‑out accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work independently with limited senior input.
  • Excellent communication skills and client management experience.
Working Arrangement

Hybrid model – a mix of office/client time and remote working. Flexible working options available (reduced days, annualised days, etc.).
