Overview

Supply Teacher – Are you a dedicated Primary Teacher seeking flexibility and a range of teaching opportunities, including full-time, part-time, or day-to-day roles? Become a valued member of our approachable and supportive team, providing cover for local primary schools in Tameside and nearby areas. At Teaching Personnel, we collaborate with nurturing schools where you’ll have the chance to make a positive impact on young learners and contribute to their education through the KS2 National Curriculum.

Job Type: Day-to-Day Supply Teacher (KS2)

Salary: £130-160 per day

Start date: Monday 3rd November 2025

What does the role entail?

Teachers will be expected to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that align with both school guidelines and the KS2 National Curriculum, stepping in to cover both planned and unexpected staff absences. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment that supports student learning. Working across various year groups and subjects, adaptability will be key as you transition between different classes and teaching approaches. In most instances, you’ll be following pre-prepared lesson plans, though you should also feel confident in creating your own when necessary. The role involves promoting student well-being, encouraging positive behaviour, and maintaining clear communication with fellow staff members. Flexibility and availability at short notice are essential, as the work may range from early-morning emergency calls to scheduled cover such as PPA or training days.

What are we looking for?

Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification, with prior experience teaching across Key Stage 2. While experience in Year 5 or Year 6, particularly with SATs preparation, is desirable, it is not essential. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, flexible attitude and demonstrate confident classroom management to deliver stimulating and effective lessons. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service is required, or you must be willing to apply for one.
