Job summary

A family-run Scottish business is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for day shifts (Mon-Fri). The role includes proactive and reactive maintenance on heavy machinery, troubleshooting PLC systems, and supporting production teams. Candidates should have a time-served apprenticeship in electrical engineering and strong skills in reading electrical drawings. A competitive salary of £47,400 per annum is offered along with a bonus and pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Flexible and multiskilled, willing to undertake mechanical work.
  • Physically fit due to the nature of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out both proactive and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve engineering issues, including PLC control systems.
  • Support production teams to minimise downtime and ensure timely repairs.
  • Work across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Uphold good housekeeping practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
