Role Summary

We're looking for an experienced Data Platform Lead Engineer to shape and lead Kew's enterprise data platform. This high‑impact role will set the strategic direction for how data is engineered, governed, and delivered across the organisation – from scientific research to visitor experience to finance and estates.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for platform performance, roadmap delivery, standards, and assurance, ensuring services are secure, reliable, scalable, and cost‑effective.
  • Guide teams and partners in building governed data pipelines and products using our Azure‑based stack.
  • Define and safeguard best practices for data governance and quality to support decision‑making across Kew.
  • Drive platform‑wide security, cost optimisation, and operational resilience.
