Shift Lead – Data Centre

Permanent | Continental Shifts (12‑hour days & nights)

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Lead to join a data centre environment in the Docklands area. The role involves overseeing shift engineers, ensuring smooth site operations, and maintaining critical infrastructure to high standards.

Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Support
  • Act as the first point of contact for engineers requiring technical support.
  • Receive and complete PPM tasks via the site’s maintenance management system.
  • Carry out diagnostic analysis and fault-finding across critical systems.
  • Perform visual inspections and submit reports on equipment condition or reliability concerns.
  • Complete all electronic and paper-based records, ensuring accurate and compliant logbook documentation.
Maintenance & Site Standards
  • Ensure maintenance consumables are stocked and replenished to agreed levels.
  • Execute general maintenance, housekeeping and plant room cleaning to maximise equipment life.
  • Respond promptly to client requests and support emergency call‑outs when required.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of subcontractors when applicable.
  • Maintain plant areas to a clean and tidy standard at all times.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across site operations.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all Health & Safety safe working procedures and environmental requirements.
  • Report hazards, omissions, or risks that could impact safe working conditions.
  • Support compliance across all site processes and documentation.
Additional Duties
  • Assist with breakdowns and corrective works as required.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
Hours of Work
  • 12‑hour shifts
  • Continental shift pattern (days & nights)
