Job summary

A leading food wholesaler in Cardiff is looking for an experienced manager to oversee a team in their Business Centre. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies, managing customer service operations, and leading a large team successfully. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service and experience in a retail management setting.

Job description

This role will put you at the forefront of our Business Centre. It is a fast-moving, challenging position that offers great exposure to our vibrant customer base, allowing you to have a direct influence on the service we provide.

You will be managing a team of over 40 colleagues and will play a key role within the store's management team, including taking on the role of Duty Manager at times throughout the week.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a successful team and to kick-start a career in Food Wholesaling.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring the team complies with legal standards and company procedures at all times.
  2. Training your team in cash handling to minimize losses.
  3. Controlling debt and recovering overdue or failed payments from customers.
  4. Maintaining accurate and timely payroll records.
  5. Engaging with customers to prevent or resolve issues and complaints, and using their feedback to improve service and satisfaction.
  6. Liaising with other department supervisors to monitor delivery orders.
  7. Managing a team of customer-focused individuals in the reception and checkout areas.
