The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience, strong skills in AutoCAD, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders. Role: Senior / Principal Civil Engineering Technician

Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive (DOE)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior or Principal Technician to join a respected, fast-growing civil, structural and transport consultancy in Fareham. You will play a key technical role supporting engineers across a wide range of development-led infrastructure projects, including residential, commercial, and care schemes. This role is perfect for an experienced technician who enjoys detailed design, has strong CAD/3D capability, and wants to progress within a collaborative, friendly team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain engineering legends, keys and template standards
  • Work closely with developers, architects, and local authorities
  • Support the wider regional teams through knowledge sharing and best practice
  • Produce detailed civil engineering drawings for drainage, S278/S38 highways, level design and residential layouts
  • Develop construction detail databases and maintain drawing standards across the team
  • Undertake quality checks on drawings and ensure CAD standards are followed
  • Support engineers in developing design solutions and technical details
  • Draft bespoke design details from engineer sketches or specifications
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 6 years' experience as a civil engineering technician
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD (essential) and Site3D (preferred)
  • Background in highways (S278/S38), drainage and residential development design
  • Experience with 3D software such as Site3D, Civil 3D, or PDS (preferred)
  • Proven experience supporting multi-phase or large development sites (preferred)
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively
  • Comfortable coordinating with local authorities, developers and architects
  • Must have the permanent right to work in the UK
