Curriculum Leader of Music

South Essex College is seeking a Curriculum Leader of Music for our Thurrock campus. The role focuses on operational management, curriculum development, and performance for teaching, learning and assessment, working closely with the Head of School and Deputy to enhance the curriculum and provide an enriched learner experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and delivery of the Music curriculum across the college.
  • Manage the performance of staff and ensure high‑quality delivery with innovative teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Ensure all learners meet or exceed their predicted outcomes.
  • Act as a role model with an outstanding teaching record within the Music specialism.
  • Manage student experience, progress and welfare within the curriculum area.
  • Provide effective planning and delivery of assessments and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification and at least five years’ experience within the Music subject area.
  • Degree in a relevant Music specialism.
  • In‑depth knowledge of current industry practice.
  • Understanding of current Government and national priorities for FE and the skills needed by learners.
