A leading healthcare provider in Scarborough is seeking a qualified Radiographer to join their team in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging. The Radiology Department at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust employs a multi‑disciplinary team of clinical and non‑clinical staff, to provide high quality, customer‑focused and user‑friendly Diagnostic Radiology Service.
We are a friendly team with a great skill mix, which helps us support each other to provide patient‑centred care. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and well‑motivated individuals, who are suitably qualified and registered with the HCPC.
Previous CT experience is essential, and as part of the CT scanning team you will be expected to work a variety of shifts including long days and night shifts in order to provide a service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Scarborough Hospital operates 2 Canon CT scanners, one opened in April 2025 in our purpose‑built Urgent Emergency Care Centre and a second scanner in Radiology undertaking a comprehensive range of CT examinations. A third Canon scanner is scheduled for installation at our local CDC early next year and the Trust has just acquired a Siemens mobile CT scanner to perform lung cancer screening checks out in the community. Staff rotation will take place across all locations.
We are a forward‑thinking department committed to advanced practice currently undertaking extended roles. These roles include intravenous cannulation, fluoroscopic examinations, multi‑modality advanced practice reporting and vetting of referrals.
All candidates must be well‑motivated, suitably qualified, registered with the HCPC, and possess previous CT experience. The role offers flexible working arrangements from the start of employment and a supportive environment for staff with commitments outside work.
