An established and high-performing sixth form college is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Criminology Teacher to join their successful Social Sciences team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified educator with strong subject knowledge and a passion for supporting post-16 learners.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across Level 2 and Level 3 Criminology programmes, helping students to develop critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of the social, psychological, and legal aspects of crime.

Person Specification Essential
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) in Criminology, Sociology, or a related discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS, or equivalent) or a willingness to gain one.
  • A sound understanding of the Level 3 Criminology or BTEC Applied Law / Social Sciences curriculum.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student success.
Desirable
  • Previous experience teaching in a sixth form or FE setting.
  • Experience with assessment and internal verification of BTEC or WJEC qualifications.
