Overview

Are you a recent Criminology graduate looking for a graduate opportunity? Are you hoping to work with vulnerable children who struggle with their mental health? Can you be a positive role model? A unique mental health school in Swindon are looking for a Criminology Graduate to work as a Learning Support Assistant starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a Learning Support Assistant to mentor and guide children through the school day.
  • Provide emotional and therapeutic support to pupils with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attachment disorders and PTSD.
  • Help roll out the school’s therapeutic approach in the classroom, supporting students to build resilience and receive a quality education.
  • Collaborate with Teachers, Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists to ensure pupil safety and wellbeing.
  • Utilise knowledge from a Criminology or Psychology degree to understand student behaviour, identify triggers for negative behaviour, and support learning challenges.
  • Develop de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts or challenging behaviour.
Qualifications
  • Criminology or Psychology graduate preferred.
  • Bubbly, outgoing mindset with a passion to help vulnerable children.
  • Ability to bring positive energy to the classroom and serve as an exemplary role model.

  • Location: Swindon
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30
  • Salary: £85 to £95 per day
