About the Role

We are seeking a professional and proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance Team on a 6-month temporary contract. Based in our Stevenage Head Office, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and smooth running of our credit control function.

This position is ideal for someone who can work independently, communicates confidently, and maintains strong working relationships with both customers and colleagues. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team that values professionalism, collaboration, and a positive working environment!

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively chase outstanding payments by phone and email to ensure timely settlement.
  • Manage multiple customer accounts and ledgers with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Issue statements, reminder letters, and other communications professionally.
  • Resolve customer queries promptly and effectively while maintaining strong service standards.
  • Monitor debtor days and take appropriate actions to reduce overdue balances.
  • Support cash flow by managing overdue accounts and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Respond to day-to-day correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the Billing Team to reduce queries and minimise overdue balances.
  • Carry out credit insurance checks via bank systems / Creditsafe and monitor exposure to support risk management.
  • Ensure technical accuracy across all credit control processes and documents.
Skills & Experience
  • Confident working independently and taking initiative to resolve queries.
  • Experience within a finance or credit control environment.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Salary from £30,000, depending on experience
