Job Overview

Maintenance Craftsperson Fire: Work within the Estates Operational Team to provide a safe, appropriate and cost‑effective environment for effective healthcare delivery. Assist in delivering PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and a reactive maintenance service – including out‑of‑hours service – to the Trust in accordance with the Service Level Agreement so that the Trust’s engineering/building systems and equipment are maintained proactively or returned to safe and effective operation as soon as possible after a failure. Carry out repairs and remedial works on various aspects of the Trust’s Estates in accordance with statutory regulations and best practice; participate in the on‑call rota.

Main duties of the job
Fire Specific
  • Maintenance of Fire System.
  • Carry out testing to Fire Systems to ensure compliance.
  • Identify faults based on experience and knowledge and identify remedial actions.
  • Work closely with Estates Management to manage the Fire System effectively and safely in accordance with HTM.
  • Assist in maintaining Fire Damper Systems, Fire Compartmentation, Fire Doors and Emergency Lighting Systems.
  • Carry out maintenance checks and tests as required.
  • Plan and follow schedules for testing, working with Multi‑Skilled Technicians within the Estates Operational Team.
