Cover Supervisor – Worksop
Location: Worksop, Nottinghamshire
Salary: £94 - £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about education and eager to inspire young minds? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to join secondary schools in Worksop. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting students in their learning journey. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who have completed their training placements are also encouraged to apply.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, support students in their learning, and maintain a positive classroom environment. This is a great stepping stone for those considering a future in teaching or looking to gain hands-on experience in schools.

Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor (CS):
  1. Supervise whole classes during teacher absences, ensuring students stay focused and on task.
  2. Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects.
  3. Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
  4. Support students with their learning and offer guidance where needed.
  5. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  6. Assist with the organisation of classroom resources and materials.
Requirements of a Cover Supervisor (CS):
  1. Experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role is desirable.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to motivate and engage secondary school students.
  4. Confident, flexible, and proactive approach to classroom management.
  5. A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
  6. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
