Overview

Cover Supervisor - Grade 5
Grade 5, £27,711 - £30,060 pro rata 77% salary
Term time only
This is a fixed-term position until 31 August 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to funding and/or business needs.

Working Pattern
  • Monday 08:20 - 15:20
  • Tuesday 08:20 - 16:10
  • Wednesday - Friday 08:20 - 15:10

(Total - 32h 50m)

Responsibilities
  • Cover lessons during the short-term absence of the class teacher who will have set suitable work for that lesson.
  • Supervise learners whilst they complete set tasks, manage behaviour and support learners in the completion of work.
  • Deliver information provided by the teacher or Head of Department; this role requires active supervision and does not involve marking or planning.
  • Support general school administration when demand for cover is low.
Qualifications and Skills
  • You will need a good standard of written and spoken English and the capacity to develop curriculum knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and a self-starter with initiative.
  • Confidence and ability to engage with young people positively; previous experience of working with young people is desirable.
