The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising students in the absence of the class teacher
  • Delivering pre-set lessons and ensuring students remain on task
  • Managing classroom behaviour and following the school's behaviour policy
  • Collecting and returning completed work to the appropriate departments
  • Reporting any issues or incidents to senior staff
  • Promoting a calm and focused learning environment
  • You will not be required to plan, mark or assess work, but you must be able to maintain control of the class, encourage positive participation and ensure learning continues.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students (e.g., in a school, tuition, youth work or mentoring capacity)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presence and confident classroom management
  • The ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • A calm, adaptable and professional attitude
  • A degree or relevant Level 3 qualification - desirable but not essential
