The Role
You will:
- Manage and grow a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications and managing property & affairs files (often linked to personal injury or clinical negligence settlements).
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of the department’s growth strategy.
- Build strong relationships with clients, referrers, and stakeholders to enhance the firm’s profile.
- Take part in business development activities such as networking, presentations, training sessions, and contributions to articles or directories.
- Support senior colleagues with departmental initiatives and collaborate across teams on joint matters.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and training to junior lawyers and paralegals.
- Ensure compliance with SRA and internal quality standards.
- Monitor and report on financial performance to help drive profitability and efficiency.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (ideally with 4+ years’ PQE, although candidates with relevant experience will be considered).
- Experience in Court of Protection work, with the confidence to handle a range of property and affairs matters.
- A strong interest in business development and growing client relationships.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to balance high-quality client service with departmental targets.
- A collaborative team player with leadership skills, capable of mentoring others.
