The position is authorized to establish a customs organization in the UK and Ireland on its own responsibility in consultation with the Foreign Trade Compliance EME Manager. To this end, all means of communication and measures necessary to achieve the objectives must be used, while always complying with all relevant guidelines. Special requirements must be agreed in advance with the Foreign Trade Compliance EME Manager.

The office reports directly to the Manager Foreign Trade Compliance EME and is authorized to define processes and documentations in GB and IE aiming at Europe-wide process standardisation in customs and foreign trade.

Your Impact
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to customs and foreign trade regulations across all national facilities, including plants and warehouses in GB and IE. Supervise import/export activities and ensure accurate tax documentation.
  • Analyse, refine, and design customs processes in collaboration with the Foreign Trade Compliance Manager EME, aiming for Europe-wide standardisation. Create, maintain and update procedural, organisational, and operational guidelines.
  • Act as the primary contact for national authorities, service providers, and internal teams regarding customs and foreign trade matters. Represent the organisation during audits and manage Intrastat reporting.
  • Serve as SAP key user for ERP, TA e2open, and other customs-related applications. Oversee technical administration of software interfacing with authorities, maintain master data (e.g., customs tariff, dual-use items, origin data – supported by shared service centre) and solve operational challenges.
  • Lead internal training initiatives related to customs and foreign trade. Drive the development of the national customs organisation and enhance monitoring systems in alignment with European standards.
Your Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in operational customs clearance, preferential and non-preferential origin, customs valuation, prohibitions and restrictions.
  • Experience in customs administration (application/maintenance of permits, simplifications, deferments).
  • Knowledge of British regulations affecting international trade.
  • Process and IT affinity completed by creativity and an independent way of working.
  • Willingness to continue learning.
  • 26 days annual leave + additional privileged leave and ability to buy up to 5 days annual leave.
  • Pension scheme, life assurance and Group Income Protection.
  • AXA private healthcare is available.
  • Retail discount vouchers, EAP, and access to the Yu Life Wellbeing App (free and unlimited 24/7 UK-based GPs + free will service).
