What you'll do

In the capacity of Corporate Tax Manager – Banking, you will assume a central role in delivering expert tax advisory services to major banking institutions. Your daily activities will involve close collaboration with accomplished colleagues on diverse assignments ranging from M&A transactions to Pillar 2 guidance, as well as providing support for tax audits and compliance initiatives. • Deliver a comprehensive range of corporate tax advisory services for banking clients, encompassing mergers and acquisitions, Pillar 2 guidance, tax audit support, and compliance assistance.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the Financial Services Corporate Tax division to ensure high-quality outcomes for clients while sharing expertise and insights.
  • Identify potential risk factors within client engagements using sound judgement, escalating issues appropriately to facilitate robust solutions.
  • Proactively seek out new business opportunities that contribute to the enduring success of both the team and the wider organisation.
  • Lead or assist in leading large-scale, complex projects with accountability, timely execution, and maintaining exemplary standards.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels with clients and internal teams, cultivating positive relationships founded on trust.
  • Apply analytical skills to address technical tax issues for banking clients, leveraging core tax principles to identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Coach and develop junior team members to acquire specialisms rapidly in response to market demand.

You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate clearly at all levels, and apply analytical thinking to complex challenges with commercial awareness. You can manage multiple priorities and are committed to mentoring junior colleagues to develop skills quickly in response to market needs.

  • Demonstrated experience in corporate tax within financial services or banking environments, ideally including support for tax audits involving large organisations.

  • Sound judgement when evaluating risk factors during client engagements; escalation to senior colleagues as appropriate.
  • Proactive in identifying business development opportunities that benefit clients and the organisation over time.
  • Proven record of assisting in or leading large-scale projects characterized by complexity, accountability, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities for collaboration with teams and clients.
