A local council in Scotland is seeking a Financial Management Unit Manager. This role involves managing the council's financial accounting functions and developing a financial strategy. The ideal candidate will be CCAB qualified and have a strong background in public sector financial management. Innovation and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this position.
36 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, Permanent

We are looking for an individual with proven management and accounting skills to be responsible for the management of the council's Financial Management Unit. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Property Services, you will be responsible for providing the council's core financial and management accounting functions, and will play a key role in developing a financial strategy to meet the objectives of the council.
You will be required to maintain a current knowledge of all developments in local government finance and ensure that the authority's interests are protected at all times.
In your role you will require to forge working relationships both within the council and with external parties and personally demonstrate an innovative management approach. You will be CCAB qualified and will demonstrate a high degree of commitment in the drive for continuous personal, staff and service improvement. You will also be able to demonstrate a successful record in public sector financial management.
