Overview

Account Executive opportunity to make a real difference within an outstanding Independent Broker in the South East. The role is based in the Reading, Berkshire region with a hybrid work model (central London office and work from home in Essex). You’ll inherit a mid‑size commercial book and drive growth without the restrictive targets that plague many brokers. The broker prides itself on a consultative, advice‑led approach and offers the freedom to make decisions and shape client relationships.

As a Commercial/Corporate Account Executive you will gain autonomy, a voice in the business, and the ability to act without excessive sign‑offs. You will build relationships in the commercial and corporate space, service clientele in sectors such as Hospitality, Technology, Manufacturing, Property, Aerospace & Food & Drink, and contribute to a 82% quote‑to‑conversation rate.

Responsibilities
  • Spend approximately 60% of time maintaining existing clients, adding value through consultative service.
  • Dedicate 40% of time to building an organic pipeline and expanding the book to £k+ within five years.
  • Use company resources, including leads from the multinational division, to prospect and win back old clients.
  • Provide full support to clients through claims services and administration, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Work within a supportive team environment that rarely replaces staff; stability is key.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary up to £65k plus a £5k car allowance.
  • Un‑capped bonus ranging from 10% to 22.5% of annual salary based on personal performance.
  • Commission and income for client programmes typically between £10k and £50k.
  • Hybrid work arrangement: central London office for reporting, with the option to work from home in Essex.
  • Supportive brokerage team with claims, admin, and senior directors available for guidance.
  • Targets primarily start year two, following initial support and lead provision.
