Job Summary

We are recruiting a reliable and experienced Cook to work in a residential home supporting older people living with dementia. This role requires someone who can prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals and cater for a range of specialist dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals for residents, including specialist and modified diets.
• Ensure food is cooked to a high standard, following nutritional guidelines for older adults.
• Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene and food safety practices always.
• Work safely and professionally within a residential care home environment.
• Communicate effectively with staff and residents to understand meal requirements.

Essential Requirements

• A recognised Catering qualification.
• Food Safety Level 2 (minimum).
• Experience cooking for older people or in a care/residential home setting.
• Understanding of special diets (e.g., soft diets, diabetic meals, allergen awareness).
• A clean Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Relevant training for working in a care or hospitality environment.
• Reliability, professionalism and a caring attitude.
