This is a great opportunity for a PLC Controls Engineer to join a well‑known manufacturing business in the heart of Telford. The company is looking for someone with experience on Rockwell PLCs.

- 8.30 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday, with flexibility for slightly different hours
- Salary of £36,000 – £39,000 per annum (D.O.E)

The Role of the Controls Engineer
- Expertly specify, design, execute and install PLCs and related electrical, electronic, and electro‑mechanical equipment, ensuring legislative compliance and adherence to all relevant standards.
- Develop software for all control system applications to ensure maximum productivity from plant through reliability and standardisation, both technical and operator interface.
- Support existing electrical, instrumentation and control systems and ensure requests for change or assistance are satisfied in accordance with existing standards, with all modifications recorded and approved.
- Recommend improvements or replacements to enhance reliability, safety or production through expert product knowledge.
- Be familiar with Rockwell products, new releases and applications where the product is in use elsewhere.
- Demonstrate a pragmatic, insightful, and logical approach to problem solving and continually challenge traditional methods while thinking about simplification, standardisation and improvement.
What our client is looking for in a Controls Engineer
- Educated to degree level in electrical and electronic engineering.
- At least four years of relevant industrial experience.
- Knowledge of H&S requirements regarding control systems, robotics and human interface.
- Work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of working with Continuous Improvement processes.
- Knowledge of process and packaging machinery operation and process pipework systems, to complement the control system design and programming work.
- Experience of programming Rockwell PLC systems.
