About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee all financial activities of the organisation and ensure the highest standards of financial management and compliance. This role is central to maintaining strong financial controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with UK accounting standards.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support business objectives.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial risk, implementing measures to strengthen financial stability.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, financial processes, and reporting systems.
  • Support audits, ensuring complete and accurate documentation and adherence to statutory requirements.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to senior leadership to support strategic decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external partners such as auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, promoting continuous learning and high performance.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, regulatory requirements, and financial compliance.
  • Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical accounting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring a team.
