About the role

The Leicestershire College is looking to recruit a Contracts & Governance Officer - Legal to join a small and friendly team led by the Contracts & Governance Manager in the Governance & Legal Services department. The post holder will carry out routine legal work including drafting and reviewing contracts, mainly for the College's contracted provision (to include subcontracting‑in, subcontracting‑out, all commercial contracts, HE, International and Apprenticeship contracts.) The postholder will also provide governance support, including clerking governor meetings, and will assist with data protection, complaints and appeals.

Key Responsibilities

You will have a law degree (or GDL) and at least two years' experience of legal work, including contract drafting. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication and negotiation skills, a strong attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and can work closely with staff at all levels of the College.
