Job summary

A leading technology consulting firm is seeking an Android Architect / Lead Engineer for a remote contract role based in the UK. The successful candidate will review the current Android app and propose architectural improvements. Key requirements include extensive experience in Android development with Kotlin and Java, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work independently within a small team. This position is expected to start in early January.

Job description

Role : Android Architect / Lead Engineer

Contract Length : 3 months initially

Start date : Early Jan, must be available immediately or with a 1-2 week notice period

Rate : around £500 per day - outside IR35

Location : Remote (you must be UK based with the right to work in the UK in place, we cannot work with offshore, or umbrella companies sponsoring visas)

TrueNorth are working with a large financial organisation who are looking for an Android Architect / Lead Engineer on a contract basis.

You will be working with the Principal Mobile Architect and Lead on an exercise to review the organisations current Android app and platform, with a view to recommending changes for new architecture, frameworks, languages for the next iteration.

Key skills and experience required

• Extensive Android architecture and development (using Kotlin / Java)
• Working with organisations to review current development and suggesting changes
• Senior stakeholder management and engagement
• Ability to lead this on their own while working in a small team
