Job summary

A community support charity is seeking a motivated Content and Communications Officer to join its Income Generation team in Norwich. The role involves leading marketing strategies, managing social media, and producing promotional content to raise awareness and support. Ideal candidates will have strong writing skills, a flair for design, and a relevant marketing qualification. A passion for community engagement is essential. This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months, offering 15 hours per week.

Job Title: Content and Communications Officer

Location: 70-80 Oak Street, Norwich

Starting salary: £12,117 per annum

Hours: 15 hours per week (2 days)

Contract: Fixed Term Contract 6 months

The Matthew Project is a values‑driven charity working across East Anglia to support individuals and communities affected by drug and alcohol use and mental health challenges. We empower people to overcome barriers and live fuller lives.

We’re looking for a creative and motivated Content and Communications Officer to join our Income Generation team. This key role is all about raising awareness of our work and increasing support from donors and the wider community.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on delivering our marketing and communications strategy.
  • Manage and update our social media channels.
  • Oversee our website, including SEO improvements.
  • Produce high‑quality promotional content such as leaflets, posters and social media posts.
  • Support public relations and media engagement.
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns and events.
Qualifications
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Flair for design.
  • Relevant professional marketing qualification (e.g. CIM, Mini MBA).
  • Passion for making a difference and raising the profile of our work.
  • Will undertake a basic DBS check prior to starting employment.
