A leading healthcare institution in Greater London is seeking an experienced Consultant Urologist to specialize in Gender Affirmation Surgery. The role involves delivering outpatient clinics, participating in audits, and providing consultant care for urological patients. This position requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and a commitment to training. Ideal candidates will have a medical degree, specialization in Urology, and experience in urological surgeries. Join a top-performing trust dedicated to sustainable healthcare and diversity.
As a Consultant Urologist with a specialist interest in Gender Affimation Surgery (GAS), the post-holder must be interested in developing their expertise in performing primary and revision surgeries for service users. If the post-holder has not completed the required volume of primary surgeries, they will receive training and supervision from suitably qualified surgeons to perform GAS independently to support the long‑term sustainability of the workforce. Outpatient clinics will be provided for patients referred for GAS and will include a mixture of face‑to‑face and virtual (telephone/video) consultations. The post-holder will also contribute to the specialist GAS MDT and the out‑of‑hours cover arrangements for patients undergoing GAS.
The role will require close working with other colleagues in the Trust as well as allied organisations as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to quality improvement, research and management of the service. It is anticipated that the post-holder will engage in specific management tasks and contribute to service meetings as required.
